  • The primary step is to define the scope of your BPM needs. The scope can be defined by identification of how your processes operate. Depending on business and technical needs the features should be prioritized. Your next move will be to make sure if the solutions (such as content/document management or Six Sigma) that are already in use in your organization can be integrated with the BPM suite. Some of the best BPM vendors provide a packaged connecter so that integration between various solutions can be maintained.
  • Once your priorities for the features you need in a BPM suite are documented, it is time to choose a BPM vendor. There are two types of BPM vendors one whose focus in on BPM based solutions the other who has a BPM based solution along with other solutions. The first type of BPM based vendors will have deeper understanding of the technology behind BPM based solutions and map it to your needs. Looking into analyst reports such as Gartner, finding the product reviews from their existing customers and reading through the case studies would further clarify your doubt as to which vendor to select and buy your BPM suite from.
