History Problem Singapore Airlines needed a central repository that would offload the data from the SAP R/3 databases for the SAP system to perform optimally. The data generated at Singapore Airlines was over 1.3 TB of data and maintaining this was critical for the organization. The documents that were generated were of various types including invoices, drawings, business documents and so on, which were to be accessed frequently by the users. Singapore Airlines also had SAP business workflow implemented across departments, due to the large size of the database; the SAP System could not perform to its optimal levels.
